How do college students get their information? The internet? Cell phones?

How do they get their information on what subject? Obviously, the
preferred source of information about Galileo may not be the same as
the preferred source of information about Batman or the preferred
source of information about pizza.

I want to know where they get all kinds of information. Where do they
get info for classes? Where do they find out about new music? Where do
they find out about what is hot?

Hi adepalma-ga,

As far as research for most college students, being one myself, I use
my school's library, my public library, and the internet. Same for
everyone else I know. As far as trends and the like, those you read
about in magazines, see on TV, hear about from your friends, etc. It's
just part of culture that you pick up from social interaction and what
you see and hear through various mediums such as reading materials and
the internet.

Each person will give you a different answer; this is something that
varies person to person. Have you though about asking a random
sampling at a local college for specific websites, places, and people
they get their info from to find out more about your local area?

I?m not sure I can give you a definitive answer, or a ?covers all?
list. Here are some links:

Most college students I have known over there years use:
Internet: research for projects/papers, class forum/syllabus, class
registration info

Friends: local info, dating advice, things to do **Friends can be
contacted in person, on the phone or on the internet

Teachers: assignment info, further explaination of class material
**usually in person and via email

Flyers: most colleges have thousands of flyers on bulletin boards, in
the dorms, in academic buildings, and in the cafeterias with
information about college related activities

Also a college student myself, I actually *gasp* use Google. So just
about everyday, on things ranging from my thesis research to music
trends or great date ideas, Google is my gateway to both the internet
as well as to the greater Chicago land area. I hate to make this sound
like a plug for Google but I use it all the time, even through text
messaging on my phone (text question to "googl" 46645). If you want to
know how college students operate find the path of least resistance
and you will see a steady stream of 18-22 year olds using Google.
