I am associated with an organization which sometimes hires
consultants. Mainly for short term work related to trade issues in
developing countries.  Could you possibly refer me to lists
(rosters) of consultants who offer themselves for such jobs.

It has to be possible to contact the individuals directly. I.e. not
lists where there are profiles only and then a fee to get further
information or contact(unless the fees are very small).

We are mainly interested in individual persons and not companies. The
persons can be retired or semi-retired.  And the persons have to be
specialists with a very in-depth knowledge of one or two sectors - not
generalists.  Preference for individuals from Europe, but this is not
a must.

The sectors vary much.  Soon we might need consultants for tasks in
Asia in sectors like automotive parts, textile/clothing, cotton,
sports goods, shoes, fruits, minerals and furniture.   Most urgently
right now is someone knowledgeable in export of automotive parts and
someone knowing textile/clothing - with focus on e.g. competition
parameters in
export.

I read you inquiry and personally do some independent consulting in
the area of health care. I do however have associates who specialize
in the texile industry with overseas experience. In spite of the reach
of the web and all its directories, consultants are mostly a networked
industry.
