Hello,
I'm on a project with a really tight timeframe, so if anyone can get
some answers within the next few hours, I'd be greatly appreciative.
I'm looking to call some experts on RF (Radio Frequency) wireless
semiconductor technology and I thought I'd turn to some of the trade
rags that track that space. The RF chips I'm looking at (things like
RF diodes, transistors, MMICs, power amps, filters, and duplexers) are
used in wireless mobile handsets and the infrastructure (known as base
stations) that support the calls we make from our phones. If you can
find a list of magazines or sources you think I should contact in the
next few hours, it would be a huge help. Please post in chunks as
items become available, as I need to try to get in touch with some
places today.
Thanks,
Brian

The first thing that I've found is RF Globalnet, which touts itself as
"the Internet's leading source of technical information for the
RF/microwave design industry".

RF Globalnet

They have a process for connecting people who need an RF consultant
with consultants.

You have to sign up and provide some information (click next to "I
NEED A CONSULTANT"). However, I'm not sure how *quickly* this will get
you actual contacts.

I'll keep looking

I found the following magazines/journals that looks very promising:

Microwave Journal
URL: http://eg3.tradepub.com/free/mwj/
Quote: "For more than 43 years, Microwave Journal has maintained an
editorial balance between theory, practical uses, applications and
news with our technical coverage of the RF, microwave, and wireless
industries."

RF Design
URL: http://www.rfdesign.com/
Quote: "RF Design magazine provides RF and microwave engineers with
design and development information concerning wireline and wireless
communication's circuits and products using radio frequency signals
going from very low frequency all the way to millimeter waves. And, in
addition, RF Design covers communication circuits involving
lightwaves."

Please let me know what I'm feeding you that is of value and what
isn't. I need your feedback to do this task best in the short time
available.

Thanks!

Websearcher, these are great as a start. Since you found those,
perhaps we can try to get even more specific. I'm looking to speak
experts who can answer some questions about a few different competing
technologies:
-FBAR vs. SAW (for RF filters)
-HBT vs. pHEMT (for transistors and power amps)
if you find any articles or publications that discuss these, that
would be great, as I'd love to try to get in touch with the author.
Thanks!

These were perfect- I got in touch with a couple of them and they were
just who I needed to talk to. If you can find one or two more experts
that would be great, otherwise, I'm very satisfied. Thanks!
