I am Bachelors in Pharmacy from India and my husband works in San Jose
as a SAP Consultant. He has been here for the last 5 years but has the
luxury to move any where as he flies to his job on Mondays and comes
back on Thu/Fri I am planning to go for MS in Chemistry and after that
pursue the career in Pharmaceutical Companies. I have offers from SDSU
and SJSU. SDSU also has the offer for TA which is great. Now I am
confused - if I go to SDSU we will be spending almost nothing for my 2
years in the school but will have to uproot and settle there. Benefit
of SJSU is that we are living close to it and almost nothing changes.
But I will be paying for the complete education.

Another factor to consider is that at SJSU I have 2 pre-requisites to
fulfill while at SDSU there is no such requirement. Also right now my
husband has a local SAP project till the end of this year so is not
flying that often. So I am wondering which university to join. In the
end summary of facts

1. I am living in San Jose close to SJSU with my husband who has been
here for the last 5 years. We have a great social circle of friends
over here.

2. My husband has a job which allows him to move but right now he is
on a local project till the end of this year

3. SDSU is offering me Teaching Assistance thereby making my studies
over there almost free while SJSU is not doing that.

4. At SJSU I have 2 pre-requisite subjects that I need extra in
addition to regular MS while SDSU doesn't have such requirement.

5. I am already enrolled at SJSU but haven't paid the fees and I have
to give answer to SDSU by July 5th 2005.

Hello vasu79-ga,

You've asked an interesting question and I'd love to answer it. I'm in
the Bay Area and also familiar with San Diego. I've answered similar
questions for others and I believe I could give you some valuable
insights on how to evaluate your options. However, you've asked a
complex, multi-part question for a price where one link is about all
you can expect as the answer.

Since you're a first time poster you may not be familiar with the
workings of Google Answers. I suggest that you review these links so
that you can get the most out of this service. You will have to raise
your price to get a complete answer or you can leave it as is and hope
for a quick, cursory answer.
