I thought I would offer you some potentially useful sites in your
quest for this information. I put the information into the search
engine www.askjeeves.com in the form of, "What was the currency
exchange rate between the United Kingdom and Mexico between the years
1750-1900?" and it returned these results. I looked at a couple but
didn't do any in depth research because, well, I'm not a researcher.
:)
The sponsored web results were:
www.refcofx.com
-I believe that this website charges a fee for its information so read
carefully to make sure that it will be of service to you before
signing up for it
www.wallstreetselect.com
www.tunu.com
www.infobeagle.com
-I did not take the time right now to poke around this site and see
what it has to offer, but it looks like it could be very informative.
www.acurrencyexchange.com
www.financelistings.com
www.shibuimarkets.com
www.shopperuk.com
...and the Regular Web Listings were (one of them anyway...the search
returned 431 total):
www.iisg.nl/hpw/link.html
-I don't know anything about the site as I did not personally go to
the link, but it's title is "List of Datafiles of Historical Prices
and Wages," so you may find it helpful.
As I said, I did not personally research any of these sites, nor do I
guarantee their potential success in helping you find what you are
looking for. However, I thought that I would offer you what help I
could with a quick once over of the web. Good luck in your search!
