Hello Starshower,

Please take a look at the following images.

Slide 8:.Hyperplastic thyroid glands of an iodine-deficient sheep

The larger image here shows normal thyroid glands.

Here is a sheep anatomy image gallery of the head and neck.

Could you please let me know if these images serve your purpose?

Thanks,

Hi there Bobbie,
These are helpful, but what I really need is a photo of the sheep's
thyroid in place (as during a dissection), or a good diagram of it
still in place from the front -as distinct from the thymus
(sweetbreads). My objective is to help the sheep packer identify it
and cut it out to save. Once a sheep's windpipe with attachments is
removed at the slaughterhouse, it loses all integrity and pretty much
looks like slops wrapped in stringy fat and connective tissue, unless
you know exactly where to find something and are familiar with its
structure. I'd be happy to leave a nice tip if you can find something
that shows the front of the thyroid gland still in the sheep. Thanks,
ES
