I was wondering if anyone knew of any programs, source code, etc. that
could automatically generate regular expressions based on sample
input.
For example, if I had a HTML page with a table. The input is the HTML
source. The output would be specified data I want from the
rows/columns. (Note: There would be some definite pattern, eg. I
would be looking for only data in a column "Employee Name") So I would
use this hypothetical program to highlight the data I am looking for,
and based on the data highlighted the program would try to generate a
RegEx to find that data only.

The closest I found was http://www.regexbuddy.com/ and some info on
http://www.regexlib.com/
