Hi chunky22, Circular knitting needles are measured tip to tip. Found in the Homesteading Today Forum: "I just picked up some circular knitting needles at the second hand store, and they arent marked. How do you measure the length ? From tip to tip, or shaft to shaft?" (...) "They are measured from end to end." http://homesteadingtoday.com/vb/showthread.php?p=376981 The measurements are also described here: Susan Bates Circular Knitting Needle 29" "...To minimize weight and enhance stitching comfort, sizes 11 and up have plastic shafts. Cable is clear plastic. Measurement is tip to tip: 2 needles plus cable." http://www.joann.com/catalog.jhtml?CATID=82325&PRODID=108505 You will also notice the needles sold at the following site are measured from tip to tip: http://www.handknitting.com/addi_turbo.asp Search criteria: measure "circular knitting needles" measurements "circular knitting needles" "tip to tip" "circular knitting needles" I hope this is helpful. Best regards, Rainbow |
