To access California Codes, you should start at the California Legal
Professionals Website
Under the heading Laws: Cases & Codes, choose CA Laws and Statutes

You will arrive here, and now choose California Codes.

Choose “Code of Civil Procedure” from the first drop down box, then
enter 872.020 where it says “enter keywords here” and press search.
