Hello Xrusos,
First I?d like to send my best wishes for your wedding,
honeymoon and a lifetime of good times!
Second, you state that you?d like the entire vacation to be
$5,000 or less. If you budget for $400 a day, 10 days, that comes to
$4,000, with only $1,000 left for air fare. You may find air fare a
bit more than that, round trip, for two people. Perhaps vacationing
fewer days, or vacationing at slightly less than ?luxurious?
accommodations will stretch your dollars.
I?ve found several locations, in Belize and Mexico, that have
packages of varying prices, presented in no particular order. These
are locations that offer at least most of your criteria, and are more
isolated than larger, well know hotels and resorts. I would not
hesitate to go to any of these locations on a honeymoon vacation ? in
fact I?d jump at the chance! I am especially enamored of Ikal del
Mar, near Cancun, Mexico. Be sure to discuss package deals with your
travel agent, or check through Expedia.com (The highest rated online
travel site)

Additional Information about Belize:
Weather:
?The windiest time of year is February through July when the wind
speed is usually 12-20 knots. There are days of 20 plus knots but not
consistently. Most of the year the wind is from the east or northeast
giving onshore or cross onshore breeze.
Weather is hot all year around with temperatures ranging from 75 to
95ºF during the day, although evenings are generally cooler. It is at
its most pleasant from November to January.
The wet season is from June until October, but the cayes are
substantially drier than the mainland with around 1m of annual
rainfall. Although this is perceived to be hurricane season, such
occurrences are rare. More typically at this time, the weather is
humid with heavy downpours during the late afternoon.?
?Ambergris Caye is the largest of the islands(cayes) which run along
the coast of Belize. The main ?town? on the island is San Pedro, with
sandy streets, (most locals still wear no shoes.) Golf carts and
bicycles are the most popular mode of transport, although as the
island gets more developed, the number of cars is increasing.
Fortunately none of the buildings on the island are allowed to be
above 3 stories which contributes to the relaxed feeling of the whole
place.?
http://www.kiteboardingholidays.com/location.php?LocationID=18
?San Pedro Town is the major settlement on the island. San Pedro's
populace has grown to 4,000 plus year round inhabitants, with constant
pressure from the mainland to immigrate to San Pedro due to a
perception by mainlanders that it is the major or most lucrative
source of income for the entire country. The residents are mostly of
Mexican descent and speak both Spanish and English. The island has the
largest concentration of visitor accommodations in Belize and its
hotels, fishing and diving facilities are some of the best in the
country.
The town is a picture postcard setting - small colorfully painted
houses set alongside sand streets nestled beside the clear turquoise
sea. Coconut palms sway and rustle in the gentle cooling trade winds.
Low rise hotels, guest houses and bungalow style resorts, from modest
to magnificent, are nestled along the coast and throughout the town.?
?If you want a comfortable, shorts-and-sandals seaside vacation, at a
moderate price, just a bit off the beaten path but not too far, where
the seafood is fresh and beer is cold, where the water won't make you
sick, an island with most of the modern convienences without the
plastic tackiness, with great diving, excellent snorkeling, beautiful
water and beautiful white sand beaches, where local folks are mostly
friendly and hablan English (though they may speak Spanish at home),
with dependably beautiful weather most of the time, then I guarantee
you'll enjoy Ambergris Caye.?

Money Exchange
?Learn how to spend your hard-earned cash in Belize with our
information on the Belizean monetary system & exchange rates, using
cash, travellers cheques and credit & debit cards while in Belize, how
to (legally) get hold of Belizean cash, and banks & their locations
should you run into some serious financial trouble. On this page - and
throughout this web site - all dollar figures are followed by a 2 or 3
letter code to indicate the country the currency figure is in. For
example, most commonly seen throughout the web site are: $1.00BZ for 1
Belizean dollar; $1.00CND for 1 Canadian dollar; Q1.00GT for 1
Guatemalan quetzal; $1.00US for 1 American dollar.
"How much is it?" Or perhaps, "¿Cuánto vale?" What currency people are
speaking in is sometimes a little tricky to know, and if there's ever
any doubt, and just to make sure, you should ask. (We know of cases
where a resort emails someone prices in Belize figures, but fails to
point it out, and the recipient thinks the prices are American, making
the stay seem twice as expensive!) The prices that appear on the
individual web sites of hotels, resorts, tour companies, etc., are
frequently quoted in American dollars and every decent Belizean web
site points out what currency their figures are in. Receipts you get
for payments will show figures in Belizean dollars. (Did you know that
the law states that for every receipt over $10.00BZ, a 10¢ stamp must
be affixed to the receipt? This is the Stamp Duty and we've never had
a stamp on any receipt, no matter how big the bill was.) Restaurant
menus can be in Belizean or American dollars or both, and we've always
seen fine print to remove ambiguity. Entrance fees, bus fares & water
taxi tickets, open market & store prices and most everything else will
all be in Belizean dollars. The greatest ambiguity lies with taxi
drivers. Always make sure you know what currency they are quoting
their price in. When you are quoting a price to them, do it in
Belizean dollars and say so.?

More about Valle de Bravo
?Jeff Gritsch and I dined that night at a gourmet vegetarian
restaurant that only serves on the weekends. Awesome food, as good as
anything I've had in Santa Barbara; salad, vegies, soup, bread -
really a surprise - even carrot juice! In the morning there is fresh
squeezed orange juice on the corner by the town square, and it's
really sweet and good. Valle de Bravo is like no other part of Mexico.
The people here are really helpful and not always begging for money. I
found a nice little hotel right adjacent to the 'centro' (the main
town square - a garden of lush vegetation and trees with long-tailed
black birds that sing like crazy), in front of the big church for 50
pesos a night! That's cheap!! I have a double bed room that shares a
bathroom with two others. It's cool, quiet and clean. The owners are
always here, so it's real secure, too.?

elevated position, giving glorious ocean vistas from nearly every
window and balcony. The interiors have lavish décor in cream and
beige, highlighted with pale gold. Each suite has a private balcony,
comfortable sitting area and fabulous Jacuzzi bathroom ? many with
amazing ocean views from the tub itself.
The heavenly Grand Class suites are enormous, airy quarters located on
the higher levels, with exceptional views. These split-level rooms
incorporate a sofa plus indoor and outdoor dining areas. The large
balconies feature hammocks (most rooms) and are accessed by full
length sliding glass doors from the sitting area. The luxurious
bathrooms, opening from the bedroom with double doors, have large oval
Jacuzzi tubs (with great views!) separate wall showers and a large
vanity area.
The fabulous Presidential Suite occupies a central position with views
directly across the bay. It features an extraordinarily large outdoor
area, incorporating a sun terrace, large swimming pool and dining or
entertaining area, in addition to 2 full size suites.
Eight private pool suites are the next most sumptuous quarters,
arranged over two levels. The upper floor is identical to a Grand
Class suite, with king or twin beds available. From the balcony, a
spiral staircase leads down to the pool area, with an adjacent and
private, shady terrace.
The resort also includes six master suites, which are slightly smaller
than the Grand Class suites and have partial ocean views. Twin and
king bed options are available and these rooms are in connecting
pairs.

Ikal del Mar
-------------
http://www.differentworld.com/mexico/common/pages/honeymoon/romantic_ikal_del_mar.htm
?Ikal del Mar (Mayan for "Poetry of the Sea") opened in early 2002 and
is set to become one of the hottest properties on the Mexican
Caribbean. Honeymooners will delight in the privacy of the individual
villas, each with a plunge pool, surrounded by lush tropical gardens -
luxuries that have been previously hard to find on this stretch of
coast. Ikal will surprise and delight with numerous small details,
from super lightweight duvets and fine cotton sheets to the in-room
DVD players and the heated pools for spontaneous midnight dips. The
poetic theme of the resort is romantic, with a different verse
delivered to your room each evening as part of the turn-down service.
An added bonus is the outstanding restaurant, providing innovative
cuisine in a alluring and informal setting, although these standards
come at a price and guests should be prepared to spend US$50 or more
per person for a three course evening meal. The wine list is
impressive.
We can also recommend the resort's stylish and highly professional
spa. The subtly-lit couples massage room is a real treat for newly
weds - ask about the "aSparalove massage" and prepare for an evening
to remember!?
http://www.differentworld.com/mexico/hotels/ikal_del_mar/pages/opinion.htm
Spa and Spa treatments
?The stylish spa at Ikal del Mar is a real treat for the senses. A
wide range of tropical and therapeutic treatments are available,
including facials, wraps and massages. A typical one hour facial
includes a neck and back massage, marine algae back treatment and
hand massage as well as the facial itself. Traditional Mayan herbs
and fresh local ingredients are used in many of the treatments, but
the equipment is modern and highly professional.
The spa building includes separate male and female areas featuring
twin hot tubs and a special couples massage room. In addition to
specialist treatments, a hairdressing service as well as manicures,
pedicures and waxing is also available.
Ikal del Mar also boasts a Mayan Temazcalli (steam bath) located next
to the ocean. The traditional event held here is a group experience
and symbolic rite, celebrating the four elements of water, soil, air
and fire. A minimum of 4 people are required for the Temazcalli and
advance reservations are required.?

Currency
--------
Mexican Peso versus American Dollar
: Capitalizing on the Value of the Dollar
1.Whenever possible, eat, sleep, dine, and shop where the Mexican
nationals do. Peso rates at establishments more attuned to a local
versus an international market have remained more stable. The greatest
bargains are at inland cities, and beach destinations that cater to
Mexican travelers more than foreign visitors.
2.Exchanging US dollars for pesos in Mexico is fine. Canadian currency
is a better rate when drawn through an ATM machine than at an exchange
company. Rates for currencies other than US or Canadian can be really
bad, so plan on either drawing money through an ATM or purchasing
American Express Travelers Checks (IN US DOLLARS) before you leave
your country.
3.Use pesos rather than dollars for transactions in Mexico. In
general, restaurants, shops and taxis will exchange your dollars at a
rate lower than what is paid by local casas de cambio. By exchanging
dollars for pesos, and then shopping with pesos, you will maximize
your savings.
4.Use credit cards whenever possible. There are two reasons for this.
First, your purchase will be converted into dollars at an exchange
rate more favorable than what you will likely earn by changing dollars
into pesos at, say, your hotel. Second, if you use a Visa check card
to draw money directly from your checking account, you will save time
waiting in line to exchange travelers checks or dollars and the
exchange rate will be calculated using official international rates.
-- If you are coming from a country other than the United States,
using a credit card to draw money from an ATM is more important than
ever as banks and currency exchange places throughout Mexico will
offer you exchange rates that are down right insulting.?
http://www.advantagemexico.com/money.html
Pesos are Easy
?Peso bills come in 10, 20, 50, 100, 200 and 500 denominations. The
bills are different colors and easy to tell apart.
1,2, and 5 peso coins are round - silver with a golden center. 10 and
20 peso coins are also round, but golden on the outside. Each smaller
denomination round peso coin is physically smaller than higher
denomination coins.
A peso is worth 100 centavos - just like a dollar is worth 100
pennies. The centavo pieces are one color and octagonal shaped and
come in 10, 20 and 50 denominations. These are actually rare to see,
but becoming more common, so keep your cute little silver 10 centavos
for souvenirs.
Watch that $ sign
Mexicans use the $ symbol for the peso, just like Americans use the $
sign for the dollar. Sometimes price lists in Mexico will have MN
beside it for Moneda Nacional (national currency), but not always. If
you aren't sure if the prices are in pesos or dollars, just ask.
·Credit cards - don't bet on it
·Exchanging money - bring your ATM card
·Currency converter - pesos are worth XX
The exchange rate changes slightly every day, and you can convert
currency online. Lately the rate has been between 8 and 10 pesos to
the US dollar.?
?Small change is in short supply. If something costs 11.65 pesos, the
store will usually round up to 12 pesos, same for 8.15 rounded down to
8. Sometimes if a store clerk doesn't have change they will offer you
gum or candy instead. Just take the gum - it isn't their fault that
centavo coins are hard to find.
It seems annoying that you can walk into a mini-super to buy a coke
for 10 pesos, hand them a 50 peso note, and they can't make change and
have to send someone down the street to get change. Here is one way to
think about it, if you are an American. To an American, that 50 peso
bill is worth a little less than $5 US. Change for $5 seems easy to
come by. Around here, a decent wage for a local worker is 40 pesos or
less. Even though the exchange rate says the 50 pesos is worth $5, in
the local economy it is actually worth more like $50 to people. When
you have your wallet out and flip through the 200 peso notes fresh
from the bank, in an American's mind it is like flipping through $20
bills, but to the construction worker behind him in line at the
grocery store, it looks more like flipping through $200 bills. You
should try to be understanding to the small store or street vendor
when they can't make change. Break your large bills at big stores like
San Francisco Grocery, and try not to flaunt your money. It may feel
like play money to you, but it is truly valuable to your average
person here.
Old Pesos and New Pesos
Mexico's currency is the Mexican Peso (sometimes referred to as the
New Peso (Nuevo Peso), since Mexico re-valued its currency in 1994.
There are one hundred Mexican cents (Centavos) to every peso.
Some travelers to Mexico have old pesos lying around and wan to know
what they are worth. Well, basically, not much...
1 new peso = 1000 old pesos
So 5000 in old pesos is worth 5 new pesos, about $0.50 US. Not exactly
worth exchanging. The old peso is very common, so it there is no cash
value for collectors that I know of. When we moved to Mexico - a
friend gave us 10,0000 old pesos and we thought we were rich!?

With regard to the price of your question; Most people don?t realize
the time researchers invest answering questions. Of your $30 fee, the

answer trying to meet all of your criteria.(Yes, I chose to answer
your question) I wish it were so, but Google Researchers do not have
precise lists of information available to us. Researchers scour the
internet much like you do. Czh-ga?s suggestion that you increase your

your question. I hope I have supplied you with that answer. Instead of
using travel sites, I selected my recommendations based on what I
found to be unique, beautiful, private, locations, with charming and
interesting local areas to visit, along with water activities.
