I believe your film may be "Oklahoma Crude," a 1973 movie in which
Faye Dunaway plays a woman who is trying to operate an oil rig on her
property during the years of the Oklahoma oil boom. The big oil
companies keep pressuring her to sell her property to them. Jack
Palance plays a thug hired by the oil cartel who threatens Dunaway, in
an attempt to get her to leave. One of the threats is written in
lipstick on a mirror, as I recall.

Does this sound like the movie that you remember?
