drhop-ga, As you can see at this fairly detailed timeline of JFK's life and career: http://www.sparknotes.com/biography/jfk/timeline.html Kennedy was discharged from the Navy in 1945...so no PT boat duty in the 1950's. In fact, JFK was ernestly embarking on his political career at this time, serving as both a Congressman and Senator during the 1950's.
