Dear wolfydman,
Since Austria is a small country, the market for Muzak-type functional
music is very limited there. Due to those circumstances, there are
hardly any domestic Austrian companies offering services in that
field. Most purchasers of such music services - such as supermarkets
or department stores - would get their customised background music
programs from German providers, such as Alcas-Muzak Germany, DMX Music
Germany or P.O.S. Medien. For these reasons, it proved impossible to
locate more than three domestic music providers. Two of them, Thornton
and Thema, are smaller companies providing pre-produced music for
retail stores, service provider locations and the like. Reditune is a
partner company of Moodmedia, the large French provider of functional
music. For completeness, I have included Radio MAX. They are a
broadcaster of point-of-sale background music with inserted customised
advertisements and additional spoken live presetation by actual radio
hosts.
I hope that the list, although the circumstances limited its extent,
will be useful for you.
Best regards,
Scriptor

Hi Scriptor
I understand that there are hardly any domestic Austrian companies
offering music services so can you please add to this list any other
domestic companies that you are aware of that offer video based
services or music video (video clips) services.

I'll do my best, Wolfy. As soon as I say for sure whether such
services exist in Austria, and if so, who they are, I will let you
know.

I beg your pardon, I did not intend to let you wait for such a long
time. But I had to consult offline sources since there was no useful
information available online. I tried everything, including contacting
sources in Austria, and I am still waiting for response from two of
them. The information I received so far was whithout exceptions
negative, i.e. I've been told that no such services exist as domestic
companies in Austria. But I'm still hoping for a more desirable
positive response. If nothing happens withing the next 24 hours, I
will let you know immediately.
Best regards,

It looks, alas, like this is the end of the road. All my research was
in vain; it simply proved impossible to locate any Austrian video
content providers. I'm starting to think that, as far as music and
video services are concerned, Austria has not very much to offer. This
is not really surprising since they have a large neighbor country
speaking the same language. But it is very frustrating that even
extensive research in this field leads nowhere at all. I reall wish I
had better and more satisfactory news to bring. But all I tried (and I
don't even have to struggle with a language barrier) was done to no
avail.
Very best regards,
Scriptor
