I am looking for at least three options of a rural house, cottage,
farm, or castle for rent in the UK this summer for the week commencing
17th July. Properties must be available for rent, must have broadband
access, and must cost less than £1000 for the week. Must sleep a
minimum of four people.

Sadly, in this country Rural usually means no Broadband.

Also, holiday rentals don't usually even try to get b/band since a)
they're often only let for part of the year but the b/band charge is
every month and b) most folk on a weeks holiday have better things to
do than check e-mail.

Can only suggest that you find something in a broadband area and then
discuss with owner to take on a b/band contract yourself for the
period.
