a spec file contains metainformation used by RPM to build a project from source.

i'm running SUSE linux 9.2
i'd like my wacom graphire to work in absolute positioning mode.
here is a packaged spec file to install a solution on my system:
  http://linuxwacom.sourceforge.net/index.php/howto/susewacom

what sequence of commands should i run to get this working?

You are supposed to already have the version of linuxwacom SRPM
mentioned in that doc.   Then you use Nico's spec file to replace the
one that comes in the SRPM.

With that done you should use:

rpmbuild -bi <filename>.spec

That will attempt to make the package AND INSTALL IT.
