Dear Diamonds,

While five of your questions deal with unions (I have commented on the
problematic hypothese you might have made, in the comments section),
the last one is suddenly a question regarding the "potential legal
pitfalls of polygraph, drug, AIDS and genetic testing". How is it
connected to the main theme? And if it isn't, I recommend that you'll
post it as a separate question.

Sorry about that, I should have been more direct. It is related in
terms of what restrictions the Union might successfully enforce to
limit an organization's practice that permit the conduct of polygraph,
drug and AIDS testing for new employees.

What I mean by "us" is an organization. Can you base it on Minnesota law? Thanks

I am trying to come up with a scenario like for example a university
that does not want unions to form and they would try to stop unions
from forming. Does that help? Any if unions do form, what kind of
things must the university be aware of?

Thanks and hope that helped....:)

Dear Diamonds,

As I promised, I also wanted to comment on possible problems with your
hypothese. You ask for " An explanation of how the labor movement and
labor laws have brought us to wanting to stop unions from forming and
decertifying them". However, it is not clear that this was the
process. It is your hypothese, but it is possible that other factors
have brought up this development.

In addition (and this has to do with all of the questions), you
haven't mentioned a certain country or region (is it regarding all
post-industrial societies? Some of them?); and who are "us" in the
question - it is quite clear why the industrialists would like to
immobilise the labour unions; it is also quite clear that politicians
who have tight connections with these interest groups, would like to
see it happen. However, apparently, most union members themselves are
not part of "us", so it would be good to define who "us" are.
