Question ID: 539818
Is there an easier way to take a lot of pills?

I take about 20-22 pills daily. All of these are high dose natural
supplements for vitamins, fish oil capsules, immune system, lowering
cholesterol, eye-health, fiber, etc. None of them are prescribed
medicines. While I can swallow pills, and have for years taken 1-2
pills a day for vitamins or allergies, 20-22 pills is something else
entirely and I find that I hate, hate, hate it.

Is there another way to take pills? I would like to think that I
could somehow crush them easily or put them in a blender with my
morning protein shake. But is this even possible?

My products are already chosen for their quality, so liquid vitamin
alternatives are not exactly what I'm looking for.

Yes, a much easier and more enjoyable way.

Eat a sensible diet and drop the faddy nonsense.

GNC carries many chewables.

I agree with Poet-ga, but you probably won't - maybe shouldn't -
follow such straightforward advice without talking to a doctor who is
strong on nutrition - and not on pills.
Since you have not mentioned that you have any apparent maladies or
diagnosed problems (underlined by the fact that none of the pills are
prescribed), reading that you are taking all those pills, one has to
wonder why you think that you need them. If you have been doing this
for years, I expect that you are going to need highly qualified advice
to convince you. Maybe you do need some of them, but then only if
they are recommended by an MD after having given you a thorough check
up.
Certainly fiber, protein and vitamin supplements are unnecessary for a
person eating properly. Excess vitamins and minerals that the body
cannot use get flushed out.
Cholesterol is a big scare word. Lowering it can help persons with
high blood preasure, but there are others with much above average
levels of cholesterol that have no problems (like my wife's aunt, who
died at 90 from unrelated causes).
Unprescribed pills to combat dormant or non-evident allergies ...?
I wonder if they are effective if one really has an allergy.

But you have not ask for this type of advice, at least not directly,
although I hope that you will consider it.

Of course, this is no professional or medical advice, as you can read
in the disclaimer below. And this is only a well-meant, free comment,
not an "answer" to your question.

Myoarin,

It is worse than that, because excess in some vitamins/pills (even if
their are off-the-counter) could lead to health problems, for example
vitamin A.

Sigh.

I do not overdose on pills. I take my health pretty seriously and if
that's too 'hardcore' for you, then I'm sorry. Please stop posting
telling me that I am part of a fad, or that I should 'just eat
sensibly' or that extra vitamins are just going to get flushed out. I
have no doubt that some of what I take it going to get flushed out and
unused, but along with my diet, and the exercise that I do, it makes
me feel better. A lot better. If it costs me more money, well it's
my money. Not yours.
