THERE WERE 2 FILMS, ABOUT 30 YEARS DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THEM...ONE WAS
DR. STRANGELOVE AND THE OTHER, 30 OR SO YEARS LATER, CALLED "HUNT FOR
RED OCTOBER".  THERE WAS A RUSSIAN AMBASSEDOR IN BOTH FILMS.WASN'T HE
THE SAME  GUY  IN BOTH FILMS?

The actors who played the Russian Ambassadors in the two films, "Dr.
Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb"
(1964) and "The Hunt for Red October" (1990) are two different actors.

You may however be interested to know that Joss Ackland who played the
Russian ambassador in "Hunt for Red October" also played the role of a
High Ranking Russian official (Marshal Zelentsov) in ANOTHER movie
about a Russian Submarine i.e. K19 The Widowmaker.
