I?ve done extensive research on your question and I?ve concluded that
customer flow / queue management / waiting online management systems
using software / hardware solutions is not a very big industry as yet
and that Q-matic is the major company in this industry.
I?ve collected information about Q-matic because I kept running across
them whatever keywords I used. It is clear that they are the leaders
in this field. This Swedish company has subsidiaries worldwide,
including in France. Installation of systems is done through
distributors.
In addition to Q-matic there are few other companies that have
developed technologies for this industry. The usual method of
deployment is through partnerships with distributors. I?ve identified
the companies that seem to have distributors in France. The websites
are not always clear about what the international arrangements are for
these companies. If I found some indication that they had a French
office or distributor I included them as one of the five companies for
you. If I found that they indicated that they had worldwide
installations but didn?t specify France, I also included them but
noted the lack of firm information.
I also found some companies that are clearly in this field but don?t
seem to have distributors in France. I would not take this as firm
information since they may have distributors or might be willing to
make new arrangements.
The amusement park industry seems to be a special case. They?re using
a paging system that allows customers to line up virtually and go do
other things until their turn comes for the rides with the long
waiting lines. I?ve listed one company for you to give you an
introduction to this specialized line waiting product line but there
are others. Please post a new question if you would like further
information about these.
I did not include the low-end product lines in this research project.
There have been number taking and queue directing systems for a very
long time. They are computerizing the display boards but they aren?t
intelligent systems and don?t seem to be in the same class as Q-matic
and the other products I found.
Research on queuing is getting a lot of serious attention in the
computer industry and there are lots of white papers and research
reports available. I expect that there will be new developments in the
customer flow industry in the near future.

Hello again Wolfy,
I?m sorry to hear that you?re disappointed in my negative findings on
your search for French customer flow / queuing / line waiting products
and systems. In my original answer I gave you six companies and four
of them indicated they had French distributors and the other two said
they had unspecified international distributors.
I did some additional searching and I have to report that I haven?t
been able to find any French companies in this field. I found one
additional one that clearly shows a French distributor, several
European companies that say they are looking for international
distributors and some American companies.( Note: I did not list all
the American companies.)
This was a very frustrating search, but I think I?ve found all the
companies that have an online presence. Q-matic seems to be the major
player in this field.
