there are lots of sites that support/repeat the idea that frankincense resin is good for the memory. I got some and tried it, doesn't taste as good as it smells, but now I can't remember where I put it. No, seriously, I can remember, but of course, the efficacy of such devices and stuff is a a subjective area. Anything to keep the gray matter active is good, from crossword puzzles and scrabble, to reading and TV, and plenty of conversation. If you have talked with an elderly person who is often alone, you may notice (as I have) that after half an hour or so the person's mind starts to get more active, as though it had found the right diskdrive finally, whereas before the person was responding politely but impersonally. In my example, then she really recognized me, the "file" opening, so to speak. |
