Question ID: 54002
Where can I find desktop images good enough for the 23" HD cinema
display - 1920x1200. Specifically, wherever the monitor is displayed
in stores, I saw at least 2 images i'm interested in: 1) Skyline at
dusk of Hong Kong (as seen on
box the monitor came in); 2) picture of what looks like several empty
old
pharmaceutical bottles. I'm more interested in the second image.
Again, interested in HD images well suited for the 23" cinema display
( I prefer close ups). Also, looking for close ups of flowers, etc.
Please help. I saw all these images on display wherever the monitor
is displayed, and they look fantastic. Apple is of no help - they
simply
stated that these images came with the powerG4 - which mine does not.

Hello dunhill-ga
I have the bottle image on my current Mac, OS 9.2 but the original
resolution is 1024 x 768 and made to 'fill screen' or 'scale', in my
case 1600 x 1200

The Hong Kong picture (night scene) I think is on my OS-X 10.0 or OS
9.0 system disks, and from memory it isn't one of the more spectacular
harbour scenes of the Central or Tsim Sha Tsui area but one of a less
dynamic nature.

Are you looking specifically for 1920 x 1200 resolution as I think you
will find it difficult. - Of course somebody can always interpolate
them to that resolution in Photoshop but that's 'cheating' ;-)

No luck sourcing the 1078 x 768 images for Hong Kong and the bottles
so far : (

Where can I find desktop images good enough fo the 23" HD cinema
display - 1920x1200. Forget the skyline at dusk; I'm more interested
in the picture of what looks lke several empty old pharmaceutical
bottles image. Yes, I'm interested in HD images well suited for the
23" cinema display - 1920x1200.

I understand these images are hard to come by, but there must be
some samples out there some where. If there are no samples for that
resolution (and I don't have a digital camera), what are my options?

Thanks,

Hi dunhill-ga:

I wasn't able to find the specific images you asked for, but here's a
flower close-up. :-)
