I am after any articles or statistics that describe the evolution of
the Australian book market in the last 5 years and who are the major
book distribution companies in Australia.  In particular, I am
interested in articles that quantify the size of the the Australian
book market for Mind, Body and Soul segment of the market.   I would
appreciate any statisics on the volume of Mind, Body & Soul books
handles by these wholesale companies and the trends in the market over
the last 5 years.

The questions you've posted can be divided into two separate
categories, the Australian book market and the MBS Australian book
market. I can answer the first category:

1)  "I am after any articles or statistics that describe the evolution
of the Australian book market in the last 5 years" [1999 - 2003]
2) "Who are the major book distribution companies in Australia."

However, I've been unable to find specific statistics on the MBS
Australian book market, as per your other two questions:

3) "In particular, I am interested in articles that quantify the size
of the the Australian book market for Mind, Body and Soul segment of
the market."
4) " I would appreciate any statisics on the volume of Mind, Body &
Soul books handles by these wholesale companies."

Please let me know if you'd like me to answer your first two
questions. It is possible to reduce the price of this question and

2) "Who are the top 10 book distribution companies in Australia and
what volume of books do they turnover each year."
3)  "Who are the top 10 (by sales) book publishing companies that sell
into Australia and what categories of books do they publish"
