Hi Moe1976,
The stores MAY be using cologne, Eau de Toilette or Eau de Parfum
instead of full strength perfume. According to the sites I have
listed, real perfume is used, but keep in mind most people use the
term ?Perfume? generically. The general population rarely calls their
fragrance Eau de anything!
Different Perfume Strengths are as Follows:
- Eau de Cologne - least concentrated with fragrance lasting up to 1 hour
- Eau de Toilette - concentrated with fragrance lasting up to 2 hours
- Eau de Parfum - concentrated with fragrance lasting up to 3-4 hours
- Cologne or Parfum Classic - highly concentrated with fragrance
lasting up to 5-6 hours
?Why Do Some Perfumes Last much Longer Than Others?
People with dry skin usually find their Perfume holding time shorter
than those with oily skin because oily skin has more natural moisture
to hold in the fragrance. PH levels (amount of acidity in our skin)
also vary slightly from person to person. Our individual levels of PH
will determine how each ingredient in will react.?
?Perfume Testers:
Perfume Testers are created to help promote the fragrance. They are
provided to large retail stores to allow their customers to "test" the
actual Perfume before buying it. It is the same Perfume that one finds
in full size bottles. Testers may come in a variety sizes and forms of
packaging. Some are offered in simple generic plain white or brown
boxes with or without a cap. Some bottles may have "Tester" or
"Demonstration" written on the bottle. Some are even without boxes,
while others may come ornately wrapped. Regardless of packaging, the
quality of the Perfume is not affected. The contents of testers are
the same as in the standard full priced packaged item. One can enjoy
their favorite Perfume at the lowest prices.?

?What is a tester?
Testers are produced by the manufacturer to help promote their
products. The manufacturers intend for testers to be used within
retail stores for shoppers to test fragrances before they buy. As web
based stores don't have a need for such things, we can sell them on to
you at reduced prices.
Testers come in plain packaging and often have the word 'Tester'
printed on the bottle. Sometimes they do not come with a cap.
All testers are sold unused with the entire original quantity in the bottle.
The fragrance is exactly the same as the standard retail product, the
only difference is the packaging.?

"Tester bottles are provided to the department stores by the
manufacturer. They sit on the department store counter for customers
to try in order to promote the fragrance. Sometimes testers come with
a box and sometimes they do not. Some testers can have a cap and some
will not. These 2 situations depend upon the manufacturer. In fact,
there are numerous fragrances today that are not made with a cap.
If we have the fragrance that you are interested in and you are
purchasing it for yourself, we recommend purchasing the tester because
you will get the same fragrance in the same quantity for less money.
It should be noted that testers are not always available like the
regular merchandise on our web site."
