I have about two dozen Kodak PhotoCD CD-ROM's from circa 1993. They
contain hundreds of images in the PhotoCD (PCD) format. I am able to
open these in Photoshop CS2 and convert to JPG, TIF, etc. I can't
automate this in Photoshop because the PCD files apparently contain
multiple pixel size options, ranging from 64x96 to 2048x3072. The PCD
files are each circa 4,000 KB.
I have looked at different batch image conversion utilities on the
web, and have downloaded a couple of free samples. They appear to
only convert the PCD files at the lowest pixel size, so my 4,000 KB
files become 17 KB files --- with a tremendous loss of detail.
I am looking (if it exists) for a batch conversion utility that will
allow me to convert the hundreds of PCD images at the highest pixel
size (2048x3072). I realise that this will create large files, but I
can always downsize them if I want to post any on the internet.
Is there such a conversion utility around, please?
I have posted one of the hundreds of PCD files (as a zipped file) at:

Please feel free to download it, uncompress it, and see if you can get
it to convert at the highest resolution level. |
