Hi george-2
I would say that your best bet for quality photos for use in your
non-profit brochure would be the shared photographs provided by the
Media/Materials Clearinghouse (M/MC) --
"The Media/Materials Clearinghouse (M/MC) photo library contains
thousands of photographs related to population, public health, and
related issues in developing countries."
"Photoshare is intended for use by communication specialists, editors,
graphic designers, and publishers for non-profit educational
purposes."
Using Photos -------
"All images in Photoshare are intended for non-profit educational
purposes. Furthermore, please note that the digital thumbnails are
provided in a low-resolution format for reference only. If you would
like to use any of the photos, please submit a request. Non-profit
organizations working to improve quality of life in developing
countries are welcome to request free digital, high-resolution copies
of photos. All color photos are available as black & white."

Use their search function here:

The way I got the best returns was to use the SUBJECT category then
click the "browse index" function . From the menu that pops up,
scroll down and choose AIDS by double clicking on it. The term will
land in the search box, then just click "FIND PHOTOS" You should get
about 70 returns.
Also, repeat the process and use the term "HIV INFECTED PERSONS"
There is also a whole section of mothers, infants, and children --
though not necessarily with AIDS -- but very touching photos.
Because the links to the actual photos are extremely long, I've not
included any here, except the one below, which was my favourite. I've
used the "Make a shorter link" website to shorten it. When you click
this link it will take you first to the "Make a shorter link" site,
and then should redirect you to the actual photograph. Be patient,
it's a little slow.
Image Number: 411-20
"Suna holding his infant, both infected with HIV. - Uganda"

CDC PUBLIC HEALTH IMAGE LIBRARY
PHILTM is an extensive collection of still images, image sets, and
multimedia files related to public health.
"Most of the images in the collection are in the public domain and are
thus free of any copyright restrictions. If you look directly beneath
the image you will see a fair use statement that tells if the image is
public domain or copyright protected.

WORLD HEALTH ORGANIZATION (WHO) PHOTO LIBRARY
"WHO SEARO Library has a comprehensive collection of photographs in
digital format. These photographs cover various subject areas such as
women's health, malaria, polio, history of WHO SEARO etc."
I'm not sure how you are allowed to use these images. Please read
their copyright disclaimer carefully. You may need permission.

USAID -- U.S. Agency for International Development
" Unless a copyright is indicated, information on this Web site is in
the public domain and may be reproduced, published or otherwise used
without USAID's permission. We request that USAID be cited as the
source of the information and that any photo credits or bylines be
similarly credited to the photographer or author or USAID, as
appropriate.
If a copyright is indicated on a photo, graphic, or any other
material, permission to copy these materials must be obtained from the
original source. "

Finally, you might want to consider writing to this man. Although his
photographs are copyrighted, he may allow you to use one since your
organization is non-profit ---
ANDREW PETKUN is a photojournalist who takes pictures of people
living with HIV/AIDS in order to capture their common humanity, and
increase awareness and support to fight the disease.

If anything I've said isn't clear, please feel free to ask for
clarification.
Best of luck in your project --
