I'm looking for information regarding market size and market share for
software  configuration tools / platforms. I'm talking about pieces of
software built or purchased by ISVs (software vendors) to facilitate
configuration and general management of their software systems when
deployed to their customer sites.

This would include packages that implement configuration repositories,
web /command line / GUI interfaces for viewing / editing the
configurations, etc. - as well as components for making their apps
monitorable, SMTP-ready, easily upgradable, etc.

If you can include information about total efforts to solve these
issues (e.g. estimates on how much ISVs spend to make their apps
manageable) as well as external spending (e.g., how much of this they
buy from 3rd parties), that would be great.

US, Europe and Global numbers would be great. Any additional breakdown
by ISV category, size etc. would be great too.
