Question ID: 541167
I have several plastic toys and plastic containers that cannot be
recycled by local recycling service and cannot be sold on eBay. I do
not want to put them in a land fill. Where can I send them (in the
US) so that they can be recycled?

Hello gsharp-ga,

What kind of toys are they? Would a charitable organization accept
these toys? Where are you located? Why can't they be recycled? The
more you can tell us about what you already know and the context of
your question, the more likely we will be able to get you the
information you need.

I live in Los Angeles but the public recycling only takes plastics
labeled 1 and 2. So I have several recyclable containers labeled 3-7
that I cannot recycle here. The plastic toys are broken or obsolete
and are of no use to anyone so I'm looking for a company or service
that can take plastic toys, melt them down and reuse them or
something. I am willing to ship to anywhere in the US and even pay a
small fee if necessary.

I run a thrift store and we recieve lots and lots of plastic toys that
are only good for recycling. Lot of Mcdonalds plastic toys that
haven't even been removed from their plastic bags. what to do????? If
anybody knows of any re-cycling ideas it would be great to here from
you. We are located in central Alberta, Canada.
