I have a small painting approx 8 x 6 . It is painted onto a sheet of copper. It is painted in oils. It depicts a ship at sea with sails billowing and is signed g. Bellini. The frame is hand carved wooden. How can I tell if this is a genuine Bellini? I do not have a copy of Bellini's signature. I can email a copy of the painting to you. Also, I took it into the National Gallery in London and Dublin they maintain that yes it is old but as Bellini's work was mostly religious they don't know if it is or is not the genuine thing. Even If it is a fake surely it must have some value? What is its value if it is real? |
