Hi blucken,
Thanks for clarifying that you are interested in the value of the
adhesives used in manufacture of pressure sensitive adhesive bandages
and pads.
Market research companies, when touting their reports, repeatedly
stress that the adhesives industry is fragmented and spans many
industry segments that continually change as the technology evolves.
Indeed, the only comprehensive data seems to be sold in their reports.
Nevertheless, some information can be obtained by putting together
clues provided in the introductions to the market research reports.
The Rauch Guide to the U.S. Adhesives and Sealants Industry, Third
Edition, reports the US market for medical and dental adhesives to be
$50 million per year in 1998, or half a percent of the total adhesives
market.

According to the following MTI report, the global adhesives market is
generally regarded as mature and slow-growing (2-3% per annum). The
total adhesives market size is $22 billion. If medical is 0.5% of the
total, as suggested by the Rauch Guide, this equates to $110 million
(for all medical adhesives, not just medical PSAs). Geographically,
the US adhesives market share is given as 29% of the total, with China
and Japan next, and no other countries mentioned:

According to a report from the Business Communications Company, the
2001 US market for specialty adhesives was about $5.7 billion, and is
forecast to grow at 4.3% per year, with medical and dental
applications being the fastest-growing sector at 5.9% per year:

for pressure sensitive adhesives in their 2001 First Quarter report:

Frost and Sullivan report the size of the European PSA market (medical
and non-medical) to be $620 million in 2000, forecast to grow to $796
million in 2007:

More information is available in some of the reports listed in the
earlier answer, including:

An opinion expressed on some of the pages obtained by the Google
searches below is that the quantity of adhesive bandages sold is
expected to drop as more and more use is made of liquid skin
protection substances. However, the dollar value of adhesive bandage
sales may continue to increase as more sophisticated products are
developed.
I realise that the above snippets are not as specific or detailed as
you would like, but I cannot locate anything else except in paid
reports. I hope the above information is nevertheless useful.
