Hi, I am looking for some colleges in Missouri that have classes for
animation 3d design. I have looked at collegeboard, gamasutra, and awn
but they all have limited listings and I know there is more becuse I
have stumbled upon some. I am looking for a college that offers
eaither a associates or a bachelor degree program. Online courses at
least for this semester is a must. I do not want any technicall
schools such as Devry or ITT Tech. I am not looking for any graphical
design degrees, which do seem to come up alot when I am looking for a
school. My main objective here is to find a animation/3d design course
at a accredited college so I can trasnfer later.

I am also looking for a website where I can compare classes from
schools. That way I can make sure wherever I go that my credits/units
will transfer over.

Sotttygett,Have been to Cgtalk and 3dbuzz. But I am getting very
little responses there. I assume that they get tired of answering
posts over there. So I figured if I pay some then maybe they will help
me.

Check with discussion boards like www.cgtalk.com if this is an issue.
There is probably a directory with some descriptions that you can ask
about.

I personally feel that there should be larger disco's at the leading
universities, since curricula were big on intimidation and short on
meat, with bankruptcy-proof student-loan debt overseen by those who
couldn't find real jobs. That's a description of hell, and there be
dancing and water-skiing in hell.

A graduate of Canada's Sheridan once told me it was all in the Preston Blair book.

http://www.awn.com/tooninstitute/lessonplan/lesson.htm#top is larry's
toon institute; he might have a clue.

Maybe if you upped your price a little, because there are probably
going to be lots of sites like
http://72.14.207.104/search?q=cache:YUScq63eTvkJ:www.rockfordlink.com/schools.htm+%22principia+college%22+animation&hl=en
that the researchers here can help you with. (Btw, be sure to get the
whole thing into the URL requester.)

I think a lot of cgtalk.com's forums, though some are pretty inactive.
It can even be rewarding to post in MAYA or MAX-specific forums,
though keep in mind that the nature of the question is a little
awkward. Sane people hate comparing things, especially where another's
time and money are involved. (I use LightWave, and have endured
software comparisons that only imply months of wasted time...)

What a giggle, my comment got read...

Supergirl,

I don't know about "they", who get tired. However, in my case, I
estimate that this question demands more work than what I usually do
for $3.75 (Researchers get 75% of the listed price).

Here is a link to guidelines about pricing your question, in the

There is a book by Pintoff: The Complete Guide to Animation and
Computer Graphics Schools.

Have you seen it? I noticed it at the public library today.

It listed a half dozen colleges in your area.
