Hi All,

My daughter is one of those NAUGHTY kid(3+ years). Occassionally,
she hits objects OR falls on the ground and gets bruises on her face
and body. The marks left by the bruises are not disappearing even
after 6-12 months. Is there a cream or something that is healthy(we
are not for beauty at the cost of short/long term health) BUT works
which helps in disappearing the wound marks ?

Thank you,

Sincerely,
~A

Are you sure that there is nothing more sinister involved because I
have read somewhere that there are certain diseases that dont let
these sort of things heal. If it is a scar, then it is probably A.O.K.

I agree here with Boris and recommend that you would take your child
to see a good physician. Bruise marks (not scars) are suppose to heal
quickly, especially at this age. When it still exists after a few
months, it might be related to a clotting problem.

I know how to cover bruises for a couple weeks at a time, but like the
others, I am hesitant to tell you because of the length of time these
bruises have remained would indicate a medical problem, or ongoing
abuse. Whatever the cause, medical or legal intervention is indicated,
--not a way to cover up the marks.

Hi borissha, politicalguru, cynthia,

  thanks for your comments/observations.

There's nothing sinister involved as far as I know. She falls down
OR bumps into something while playing. The wound heals in a few(2-4)
days. The scar gets lighter over time -- so does any pain. She
recently bumped into a rock while on a tour. The wound has dried up --
no pain too.

The concern is only for total disappearnce since she's a girl and as
a parent, know that this is NOT the last wound/bump she will have. I
would like her to be beautiful when she is 16 years(she's a lil over 3
now) and not think of any scars as ugly. I hope you guys get what I
mean ?

Thank you very much,

BR,
~A

Arnica Flora Gel is a great product, works great on a bump BEFORE it's
a bruise, and helps diminish bruising after the fact.

Here's a page on it:

I don't think that you have anything to be worried, then. It will
disappear by the time she's 16.

Hi.
I've heard that vitamin E cream does a good job (if applied for around
a year or so)...
also, make sure that your child is on a healthy, balanced diet,
getting all the right vitamins that a growing child needs. the right
foods should give your childs body the nutrients it needs to fix the
skin cells.
