Is there  a good way to evaluate the environment a particular school
(public high school in San Jose, CA region)? Our child will start
attending one soon and while the Principal and others have been
assuring, I need to do my due diligence. Are there any public logs of
how many times police were called and for what reason? How many
traffic accidents took place near the school during the year? Is thre
any way to assess the level of student to student violence that may go
unreported?

The schools for which we are asking this are in the western area of
Santa Clar county from Cupertino to Campbell. I know from talking with
many that schools in more expensive neighborhoods are not necessarily
better when it comes to high schoolers getting into trouble.
