I'm looking for a letter, word or symbol for the word "God" - in
Hebrew and Yiddish.

I know the following in Hebrew: elohim, אלוהים, ha-el, האל, and the
abbreviation: 'ה

The word "elohim" is, I think, an English transliteration. That's not
what I need. I need to see the word written-typed in Hebrew and
Yiddish - not in English.

I know it isn't allowed to write the word "God" in the Torah. By
custom, I think the Torah uses a letter, a symbol, or a word as a
substitute.

This is for a novel, to be used at the beginning of sentences as well
as in the middle of sentences. I would like to be able to capitalize
the first letter of the word (or letter or symbol) as well as use it
in lower case.

Clarification as to whether I can use your answer with the first
letter lower case AND/OR capitalized would help.

To distinguish what in your answer is Hebrew and what in your answer
is Yiddish would help.

?The Tetragrammaton is the usual reference to the Hebrew name for God,
which is spelled (in Hebrew); ? (yod) ? (heh) ? (vav) ? (heh) or ????
(YHWH)."

"Of all the names of God in the Old Testament, that which occurs most
frequently is the Tetragrammaton, appearing 6,823 times according to
the Jewish Encyclopedia. The Biblia Hebraica and Biblia Hebraica
Stuttgartensia texts of the Hebrew Scriptures contain the
Tetragrammaton 6,828 times.
In Judaism, the Tetragrammaton is the ineffable name of God, and is
not pronounced. In the reading aloud of the scripture or in prayer, it
is replaced with Adonai ("my Lord"). Other written forms such as ?? or
?? are read as Hashem (The Name), for the same reason.?

?TETRAGRAMMATON is the Greek word for FOUR LETTERS, referring to the
Four Letter Name of God ? YUD HEY VAV HEY.?

"Since the Name YUD HEY VAV HEY was considered too sacred to be
pronounced, ADONAI was enunciated in its place.?
