i need the five-letter name of a eurasian butterfly with dark brown
wings and body and and two blue eyespots on each forewing. i believe
the second letter to be "r" and the fourth to be "a".

no, i don't think it's argus. this is a crossword clue and the two
intersecting clues give me the letters "r" (2nd of 5) and "a" (4th).
i've double checked those clues and both seem entirely right.
