Question ID: 542161
Where can I find a complete list of small animal (typically mouse)
research laboratories in the U.S.? For example, Jackson Labs
(http://www.jax.org/). Ideal list should include all government,
academic and private labs with contact information.

Here's a list of all approved animal research laboratories in California:

http://grants.nih.gov/grants/olaw/assurance/300index.htm?State=CALIFORNIA&StateCode=CA#GridTop

The labs themselves are listed at the bottom of the page.

It's not a perfect list for your needs. There is no contact
information provided (though looking up the individual labs shouldn't
be that difficult).

Also, this list isn't specific to small animals, though most such labs
are likely to include mice in their repetoire.

Clicking on other states brings up a similar list. For instance, if
you click on Maine, you'll be taken to this link:

http://grants.nih.gov/grants/olaw/assurance/300index.htm?State=MAINE&StateCode=ME#GridTop

where you'll see Jackson Labs included.

Let me know if this meets your needs.

I hope to post the information I provided above as a formal answer to
your question before it expires. But before doing so, I just wanted
to make a final request that you please let me know if there's
anything else you need beyond the NIH list of animal research labs.

Thanks,

Thank you for the response. The NIH list of animal research labs you

Thanks for getting back to me on this.

You may want to start with the NIH. All labs funded by the NIH that
use animals as part of their research are required to submit forms
indicating the type of research and the types of animals used. Perhaps
this info is available.
