I need the name of the author who wrote the lyrics of a song often
called "The Worm Song." The lyrics go," Nobody loves me, everybody
hates me, Guess I'll go eat worms, Long thin slimy ones; short fat
juicy ones..."

There are many versions of this song, but the author is always listed as "unknown."

The song was popular in the 1950's and 60's with Girl Guides and Girl Scouts.

I was once told that this song was written by Shel Silverstein. I
can't verify this, however.
