I was married for 14 years and have three children, two from my husband and a previous child (he was three when we married). Both myself and my husband have SAYE shares, throughout the marriage mine was used to pay for maternity leave (I pay the mortgage) any decoration in the house and general upkeep of me and the children. My husband paid the household bills and occasionally replace brokendown goods (ie. fridge, washing machine). His shares was saved to pay off the mortgage £43,000 would be left over after the 25 year term. Instead he has bought a new two bedroomed semi detached home and now still wants a 40% share in the martial home. He regularly saves £300 a month and pays a £800 mortgage and other household expenses comfortably within his wages. He only pays me child maintanance and says he cannot afford to pay me anything else. Is it right that he gets such a high percentage of our martial home. Has anyone been in this situation and had a good result? |
