Question ID: 542453
I have two separate columns of numbers. Each cell in both columns
contains a 9 digit telephone number. The first column has about
50,000 cells/numbers. The second column has about 2,000 cells/numbers
(formatted slightly differently, with a space after the area code).
I need to identify the matches there are for each of the 2,000
telephone numbers in the 2nd column from among the 50,000 cells in
column one.

Any numbers that I'm not able to match up in the 2nd column will then
be matched against another, new file of phone numbers.

I would prefer a software solution that's free (e.g., download free 30 day trial).

The matched phone numbers in the 1st column are listed next to another
column of information that classifies each phone number into a
specific group. That's why I need to match the phone numbers. So I
can append this classification information to the phone numbers in
column two.

Hi tmac40,

I was wondering if you've had a chance to try Duplicate Master yet,
and if so, have you had any luck with it?

hummer

It didn't work for me. I was able to get a vendor to do this for me.
Thank you!

You could probably get a free macro to do that if you go over to
http://www.vbaexpress.com. Also, check out their knowledgebase at
http://www.vbaexpress.com/kb/kblist.php, which contains a ton of
pre-written macros with complete instructions on how to use them.
