I am a webmaster, and there is a special place to listen to free mp3 music on my site, but i want it to be secure, or so that people would not be able to save the "mp3 file" from the internet. How is this done? |

The short answer is, if they can access it in its entirety there will be a way to save it. That being said, some places use an m3u file (playlist) that contains info on where to find the actual mp3. A savvy user can simply look in the file to find the actual address of the mp3 though. It would work for most people though. |

Is there a specific code to block the "right-click" on the web site? |

blocking right click is just an anoying addon that can be easily avoided. you might want to try to turn your mp3 files into asx or other 'streaming' audio that when yoiu save it, your only saving a shortcut to the file. therefore if you must save and listen, it will buffer and very impraticle. another way you can insert your mp3s into flash files, people can still download them but it is once again impraticle to save. but i would recomend streaming audio. to get around that you havce to use a program called wm recorder which you have to pay or download trial and it is hard to use and many times unsuccesful. |

Sorry, it is impossible. lots of "direct sound recording" softwares can record streaming audio. http://www.internet-streaming-media.com/direct-sound-recording/index.htm |

You can download Internet broadcasting software to stream music from your own computer, there is a program called Sam Broadcaster - Either way you go, if someone can hear it on there computer if they want it they can get it. There is too much software available that can record streaming audio, The better option is making it impraticle for people use IE - Embed the mp3 into a flash file. Altho there is a Digital Licence that you could aquire for a cost, not sure how much that would work with Windows media audio .wma Files.... |

Convert your mp3s to .rm to make the real media streaming audio. http://www.mp3-converter.biz/mp3-to-rm-converter-directory/ and then read this http://webdesign.about.com/od/streamingmedia/a/aa071000a.htm about how to put them on your website. that would be the best way, its not foolproof but hampers ALOT of easy downloading. and do not use the rick click script, one can just view the source if they wanted to. but if you MUST insist its. http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex9/noright.htm |
