Hello again Blucken-ga,

Angina is characterized by severe chest pain, even at rest, that often
results from the formation of a blood clot in one or more of the blood
vessels of the heart.

According to the CV Therapeutics Market Report the market for angina
drugs in the United States is for $3.0 billion in annual sales.

The excerpt is as follows:

“Approximately 6.7 million people in the United States suffer from
angina, accounting for $3.0 billion in annual sales of anti-anginal
drugs. It is estimated that 20-25% of these patients also have
congestive heart failure – which makes them ill-suited for many
current angina therapies – or are resistant to the available
treatments. Ranolazine’s mechanism of action and improved side effect
profile in Phase II clinical trials make it a promising therapy for
these 20-25% of angina patients. We will begin the first of our
planned multi-center Phase III trials of ranolazine later in the
year.”

Approximately seven million people in the United States suffer with
angina and approximately 350,000 new cases occur each year.

There are approximately 700,000 people diagnosed each year with

I did a couple of hours of research trying to find the international
market for Angina drugs but unfortunately without any luck. I am
including the number of people who suffer from Angina in Canada and
the U.K. It may be useful in considering the Angina drug market in
those countries.

Approximately 1.3 million Canadians suffer from angina.

Over 1.5 million people in the UK have angina, half a million have
heart failure and these numbers are rising.
