In the last few months, a close family member of mine has emerged from
a Chapter 7 bankruptcy after her business failed. She now wishes to
join the US Foreign Service and appears to have a great background for
such a position (law degree, professional experience, languages,
etc.). Will her Chapter 7 Bankruptcy in and of itself disqualify her
from becoming an FSO? If not, will it hinder the application process
and/or her career development?
