What should I do if a company is not paying for the services I
provided. I got excellent reference from the client to whom I provided
services, but the contracting company is not paying the money as per
the agreement. Contracting company is in CO state and I worked in
Texas. I worked for hourly, is there any federal Labor department who
cares about this type of monkey business and caution the contracting
company

Try to get them to answer your questions via email so you can track
their comments. Unless you are ready to take them to small claims
court, your options are limited. You could always report them via the
Better Business Bureau at:
http://www.bbb.org/complaint.asp
or the Colorado State Better Business Complaint Form might help you:

I hope things work out for you!

What type of work was this, and was your agreement with the client or
with the contracting company?

First step should be to complain to the Labor Department in the city
where the work was done (you should be able to find that in the phone
book or contact any state employment office in the area and they can
give you the address and phone number). Then if you don't get
satisfaction there, complain in Colorado.

BBB.org rejected my complaint saying that it doesn't fall it into BBB services.
Any other source of information would help.
