I?m looking for a company/website that I saw somewhat recently. It was (I believe) a new service that was basically venture capital for individuals. I see it somewhat in the model of www.zopa.com. Individuals can use the web site to post their own (usually small) projects and then a community of web surfers/site members would have the option to fund the venture. For instance, say I want to publish my own book and it might cost $2000. If I don?t have the cash, I?d go on the site and post the project and presumably some sort of incentive as to why people would give or loan me money when the amount is too small for a bank or standard VC company to bother. I think I saw a news item about the site in the past six months and I think it is based in the US. |
