need a supplier in china to supply me with wolf berries and plants

Request for Question Clarification by clouseau-ga on 13 Aug 2002 21:25 PDT
Hello billysam,

And thank you for your question.

I'm posting this as a request for clarification as I had difficulty
defining the specifications of your question "need a supplier in china
to supply me with wolf berries and plants "

I interpreted this to mean that you were looking to import to the US,
but I was unsure whether you required the wolfberry fruit, seedlings,
leaves or perhaps just the extracted oil.

The contacts I have found specify, in some cases wolfberry oil or
wolfberry leaves. Some pages were translated from Chinese, so it
becomes very difficult to interpret if oil and/or leaves are the only
wolfberry products they can or wish to supply. And I was unsure of
your specific need.

Consequently, please review my information below and respond to the
request for clarification. Should you find this answer acceptible,
please respond to that effect and I will repost as an official answer.
If not, please clarify your exact needs and I will attempt to search
further and would then welcome other Google Answers researchers to
provide you with a more targeted answer to your question, if required.

Regards,

At the Lawyer Nursery, http://www.lawyernursery.com/catalogc.pdf,
there is a catalog that sells wolfberry seedlings. Having an 800
number, they appear to be a US based company. Their number is
800-551-9875.

Searching for more information on them, I found the following:

Lawyer Nursery was founded in 1959 in the beautiful Clark Fork River
Valley near Plains, Montana. Today we have over 500 acres of prime
nursery land. Here in Plains we produce mostly deciduous seedlings and
transplants, rootstocks, ornamental shrubs, budded fruit trees,
flowering crabs and some conifers. Our climate here is USDA zone 5,
our soils range from sandy loam to a sandy clay loam and our growing
season is about 100 days.

In 1988 we expanded our business to Olympia, Washington where our
present facilities include 175 acres of rich uniform sandy loam. Our
Olympia climate is a USDA zone 7. At Olympia we grow a wide
assortment of conifer and deciduous seedlings and transplants
including most of our difficult-to-propagate species. We have modern
cold storage facilities at both locations totaling over 500,000 cubic
feet of refrigerated and humidified storage. We grow our product in
open fields for one or more growing seasons. Then we dig, grade,
count and bundle our plants for storage and shipment.

All of our stock is sold bare root in bundles of generally 10 to 100
plants with a $200.00 minimum order value. Most of our broadleaf
deciduous species are dug in the fall and early winter after they are
all fully dormant. We dig our conifers grown at the Olympia Nursery
in mid-winter and at the Plains Nursery, as early as possible in the
spring. All stock is held in cold storage until shipped. We propagate
most of our nursery stock from seed and today Lawyer Nursery offers
the largest selection of field grown seedlings in the wholesale
nursery trade.

If a US grower is of interest , this may be a good find for you.

At http://www.supplysideshow.com/exhibitors.html, I found a Chinese
grower and their US agent for wolfberry as follows, though once again,
this appears to be oils only:

Guangxia (Yinchuan) Industry Ltd. specializes in the production of
supercritical CO2 extracted oils and products. With the completion of
plants in Tianjin, Anhui and Ningxia, Guangxia is to be the largest
manufacturer of supercritical CO2 extracted products in Asia, and a
global supplier in natural-source product area. As a vertically
integrated company, Guangxia owns and operates the largest development

The link to their website was broken.

I hope this is useful information for you.

It appears the questioner is seeking to import plants or seedlings for
the Goji Wolf Berry from China. Since my research has shown exporters
of leaves and/or oils from this plant, but not specifically seedlings,
I shall continue to research and encourage other GA researchers to use
their best efforts to provide the answer to this question.
