Lost most files on virtual drive d after shutdown. C seems OK
explorer not reporting them, and disc (4.85 meg) showing 3.99meg free
which is definitly not the case.
Because of limited space on drive c I had previously (last year) moved
backup to D and unable to restore because it cant find it - so am in
big trouble!

All this happened after Windows update, but this might be a red herring!

windows XP Toshiba Tecra Portable

Advice please - would a recovery program help - if so which one?
