Explorer has "lost" 80% of my directories & contents on "d" drive (Windows XP)
Downloaded PCInspector to see if I could recover them.
Answer - Yes they are all there and I did manage to save a few
pictures & word files and then the enourmity of the task hit me -
thousands of scattered files to pick through.

Is there a better way? Can one rebuild the directory structure with
another program?

All that happened (Tecra Portable) was that I had just saved a file
and it seemed to me the next thing I knew a major directory vanished!
I rebooted thinking it was just a "glitch" but nearly all the contents
of the drive seem invisible to explorer.

Can anyone just make a few suggestions please?
