Hi,

I am an Australian trained RN. My licensure is still current in
Australia, however I have been living as a permanent resident in the
USA for over 3 years now and have not worked in nursing during that
time. My last nursing job was in 2002 in Australia. My question/s:

- I hold a bachelors degree from australia and license, but I only
have experience in Med/surg nursing and geriatric nursing. Total time
is only a little over a year working in Australia. This is not enough
experience to obtain certification in the USA and more specifically,
colorado.

I already know that to obtain nursing credentials here I need to go
through the process with CGFNS and NCLEX etc. This is not my
question. I also do not need to know about Visa's. I hold a
greencard already. Hope this helps clarify what I already know.

My main question is is there any agency or hospitals that work with
foreign nurses who need more clinical experience but do hold foreign
RN licensure.

Thanks in advance

Sarah

Is there a way to work in conjunction with a hospital or nursing
agency in the USA to gain clinical experience without licensure here?

I am married and a permanent resident of America and at this time am
unable to return to Australia to further work to gain this experience.
