I need great ideas for making birthday celebrations memorable events. 
This likely includes party themes for all ages, food with an emphasis
on cakes, entertainment, locations, whatever else pops up as a
special, memorable event for the birthday celebrant.  Feel free to
wander off the beaten path.

I seem to need adult themes or things to do, like what to do at a
party for a 52-year-old or an 80-year-old woman besides sit and gab.

A list of online vendors might be cool.  Are there people who plan
these events for you?  That might be on the ritzy end, for business
people, but I want a range of services and ideas to include affordable
ideas and things for a do-it-yourselfer.  Providing a list of
party-gear suppliers with an eye to those with affiliate programs
would be excellent as well.

I guess I'm looking for imaginative ideas, some with "oh wow" factor. 
I don't mind a few off-the-wall ideas thrown in for the more daring
among us (skydivers?), or for humor.

I have a list of people's actual questions and needs I'll share with
you, and the keywords that got hit the hardest.  I'm blogging on the
topic and will share that with you.

What I don't want: a list of clowns and magicians for hire for kid's
parties.  People have been coming up with that on their own.

I need to write an 80-120 page ebook on the topic--within two 
weeks!  I'm a clueless wallflower, non-party-animal type.  I have no
business writing on this topic, so I desperately need you, oh research 
god, to throw me a line, draw me a map, provide navigation.
