I'm looking for a database of all elected officials in the United
States -- or (barring that) as many states as possible.

This database must include the following fields (or their equivalents):
* county
* municipality
* office
* year term ends

So, for example, capwiz would not be acceptable because it doesn't
include the year the term ends (as far as I can tell).

http://capitoladvantage.com/qt/officials.html
http://capwiz.com/lwv/officials/locality/?entity_id=6819&state=PA

It must extend to all county and municipal offices. School district,
precinct, judicial, state, and federal offices would be a plus, but
not required.

I'm not so much interested in contact information as the timing of
elections. So a database of offices up for election would be
sufficient. The database source must work year after year (i.e., be
regularly updated), not be a one shot deal for 2005 or 2006.

Pennsylvania has a perfect example of the sort of thing I am looking
for. It has an online database and a downloadable database.

http://ctcoas01.state.pa.us/dced/MSS.DYN_LGO_yte.show
http://ctcoas01.state.pa.us/dced/MSS.DYN_FTP_CSV.show

I'm looking for the equivalent information for the other 49 states.

An acceptable answer would include URLs to websites that provide such
online/downloadable databases or URLs of websites that sell such
databases (verified to contain those fields and exportable to excel or
access) along with reasonable prices of their products.

The whole United States would be ideal. If it must be state by state
(with different working URLs for each state), 10 states would be
acceptable (not counting Pennsylvania).

Please feel free to ask any clarifying questions in the comments.

Not really. That talks about federal and state offices, which are
irrelevant to me. I'm looking for local offices.

I'm sorry for not having enough time to do thorough research today,
but have you asked the Fed's website your question?

The feds also may sort this data by FIPS state and county codes

I don't know if any of these FEDERAL searchable databases are of any
help, but later this week, if you don't have your answer, I'll ask
some of my contacts where I can obtain this type of info for ya'......

Because you've found this info decentralized, I would imagine the FEDS
would have a centralized database to query this type of info..........
 I know they have a centralized place for SSA info, employment,
banking and the ability to proactively match various records to obtain
anything and everything they want to know about a
person.................

Let me know if you need me to help you out or if I was not helpful........

Have a great day!

Sorry I forgot to include this website and desc. This des is what I'm
interpreting as the type of info your requesting, but for legis, etc
as you described..... but I thought this was a good sign for a
centralized database of info, and they may have your topics with the
same available desc.

Judges of the U.S. Courts.
The Federal Judicial Center makes this database of biographical
information available. It covers all who have served on any federal
court (District level and above) since 1789. You may search or browse
the database or construct lists of judges by special criteria, such as
court type, gender, party of nominating President, etc.

Hi. I'm looking for a very similar database, but am very interested
in the contact info as well.

If you find what you're looking for, could you let me know?

THANKS!!
