My service provider is Bell Sympatico.ca.
I use microsoft outlook to manage my email.
I wish to use autoreply when I am on vacation etc. BUT I wish to be able
to do so with my computer turned off but the autoreply should still be
able to send its automatic messages.
Is this possible and how would I do so?

An "Automatic Reply Message (Vacation Alert Reply)" can be set online
at the Bell Sympatico website. Here's how:

1) Go to:
http://sympatico.msn.ca/

2) Click:
Account & Billing (top, left column)

3) Click: Login for:
"Access your Sympatico Mail or your GetEmail here: (top, right column)

4) Type your password & click LOGIN.

5) Click:
"Options"

6) Click:
"Extra Features"

7) Follow the directions for:
"Automatic Reply Message (Vacation Alert Reply)"

You can also access your email this way when you are away from home (Step 5 page).

Note: an automatic reply message seems like a great idea, but it
doesn't discriminate between legitimate email and spam. Therefore, by
replying to all messages, it may inadvertantly alert spammers that
your email address is alive and well.
